A wedding is a time for everyone to celebrate the new couple, but it’s also a time to appreciate those that come from far away to join in the celebration. Not only are weddings costly for those planning it, but those attending it have an expense as well, so it’s only right to say thank you with a special gift bag. Typically these bags contain water and light snacks to hydrate and fuel your traveling guest, but why not get creative and add a few personal touches to make them feel even more special.
We like to start with a printed tote like this one we made for one of our special brides which is reusable and easy to carry. This also becomes a special keepsake and can be used after the big day. For an extra personal touch, a handwritten note from the bride and groom is always nice.
It should be filled with the traditional staples of mints, gum, chips, cookies and of course, chocolate.
But, we also like to include a local area map and guide perhaps highlighted with some favorite spots plus an itinerary of the weekend celebration schedule. This is great as guests can know exactly where and when to be on the golf course, at the spa or at a meal and most importantly, where the transfer to the wedding will be is if there is one.
Other thoughtful inclusions are something to pamper and protect your guests with, such as luxury hand creams and sunscreens.
Sometimes an area souvenir like fruit, seashells or even a local brew is fun to include.
We find that giving your guests the popular “Hangover Helper Kit” consisting of water, aspirin, band aids and this adorable “Do Not Disturb” sign are always well received.
For those that want to get the party started early, feel free to also include some spirits.
When it’s time to put these goodie bags together, grab those bridesmaids (and perhaps more spirits) and let the assembly line begin.
*If you want this out of your hands, we at Styled Events & Invitations, provide full assembly and printing too.
